Sioux means "little snakes" and Deacon is a proud member of the snake house. Lakota are known for their warrior culture and their Ghost Dance to protect their lands. Lakota Sioux manly hunt and eat buffalo. They would eat chokecherries and enjoy herbal tea. They use the buffalo skin to make blankets and teepees and moccasins for their feet. They live in "Tipis" the Sioux word for dwelling. The Lakota Sioux live in North America clustered in what is now Wisconsin, Minnesota and North and South Dakota or the Great Plains. Lakota Sioux were known for their beadwork and porcupine quillwork. Lakota Sioux would use canoes to travel and dogs/sleds to pull things. When horses were introduced to them it changed their culture. Long hair is important to the Lakota Sioux and should not be cut unless you are mourning the loss of a loved one. Lakota children played with rawhide dolls and throwing the willow spear. It is important to pass on the Lakota traditions and remember their 7 values of respect, compassion, honesty, generosity, wisdom, humility, and prayer.

Suddenly, the door opened silently and a magnificent light reflected from inside she stepped through the mysterious door. Behind the door was a magical underwater world where colorful fish swam. Bright algae danced around the fish and colorful corals sparkled magically. Derin started to explore these beauties and decided to swim among the cheerful fish. She played games with her underwater friends, collected jewels from pearl-filled shells, and explored colorful reefs deep in the ocean. At the end of the day, Derin returned to her garden through the mysterious door. Her mother greeted him with a smile and gave her a warm hug.

Emilka and the Land of Donuts Once upon a time, in the magical Land of Donuts, every day was sweet, but the sweetest of all was Fat Thursday. On this special day, donuts of all shapes and sizes danced in the streets, filling the air with the scent of sugar and frosting. But this year, something was wrong – the flavors were disappearing! Emma, a curious 6-year-old with a big imagination, stumbled into the Land of Donuts while chasing a butterfly. She met Mr. Sprinkle, the king of the donuts, who was in despair. “If we don’t bring back the flavors, Fat Thursday will be ruined!” he cried. Determined to help, Emma set off on an adventure to find the lost flavors. Along the way, she befriended Choco, a chocolate-filled donut who had lost his sweetness, and Berry, a jelly donut who was feeling empty inside. Together, they traveled through the Cotton Candy Clouds and crossed the River of Glaze. Emma’s clever idea was to mix unexpected ingredients – like lemon zest with chocolate or mint with raspberry. With a sprinkle of magic and a lot of imagination, the flavors returned, more delicious than ever before. Fat Thursday was saved, and the donuts danced with joy. Mr. Sprinkle crowned Emma the Honorary Donut Chef, and she promised to visit every year to invent new, magical flavors. From that day on, Emma was known as the girl who saved Fat Thursday, and the Land of Donuts was sweeter than ever before.

1. John Jr and Durga learned about the Armor of God at Bible Camp. They wanted to learn more and asked the camp counselor for more information. 2. John Jr and Durga found the verse about the Armor of God in Ephesians 6:10-18. They decided to break the verse down to better understand it. 3.The verse started out "Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the [wiles of the devil. " John Jr asked Durga if he knew how to be strong in the Lord. Durga said that Your spirit thrives on being connected to the earth, the world around you and to others. 3. Then John Jr explored the meaning of the verse , "For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of ]the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places." Durga didn't understand the Flesh and blood part. John Jr explained that the battle is spiritual, not physical. He says that the enemies we face are not people or objects, but rather an unseen spiritual enemy. 4. The last part of the verse is "Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand." John Jr told Durga that they needed to stand against evil by Being Strong in the Lord., Standing on God's Word, Don't Lose Heart and Standing in Faith. 5. John Jr and Durga decide that they would try putting on the armor of God by reading and praying God's word, and remembering that God's righteousness protects them, and that they can have faith in his promises. John Jr and Durga decided that their daily practices would include prayer, scripture study, journaling, acts of kindness, exercise, and associating with friends of high standards
