The smell of boiled crawfish filled the Louisiana kitchen, mixing with steam rising from the big silver pot. The wooden table was covered in newspaper, already stained with seasoning, and piled high with bright red crawfish, steaming potatoes, and golden corn. Gage sat on his knees, eyes wide as he stared at the mound of crawfish in front of him. His little brother wiggled in his high chair, smacking the tray while Daddy leaned back with a grin, beer in hand. Momma rolled up her sleeves. “Alright, cher, time to learn how to peel a crawfish.” Gage hesitated. “What if I mess up?” Momma laughed, grabbing a fat crawfish. “Ain’t no wrong way, long as you get the meat out. But I’ll show you the right way.” She held the crawfish up. “First, grab it where the head and tail meet—right here. Now twist.” With a quick motion, she popped off the head. “Some folks suck the head for the good juices.” Gage gagged. “Ew, no way!” Daddy chuckled. “More for me, then!” Momma shook her head, smiling. “Alright, suit yourself. Now, pinch the end of the tail, squeeze a little, and pull.” She slid out the perfect piece of meat and dipped it in butter. “See? Easy.” Gage copied her, his fingers fumbling at first—twist, pinch, pull. Out came the juicy meat. “I did it!” Momma clapped. “That’s my boy! Now try it.” He dipped it in the butter and took a bite. His face lit up. “Mmm! That’s good!” His little brother babbled, reaching for the pile. Daddy laughed. “Looks like we got another crawfish lover.” The kitchen filled with laughter as they peeled and ate, passing corn and potatoes around. Gage wiped his hands and reached for another. “Momma, I think I’m getting good at this.” Momma ruffled his hair. “Told you, cher. Crawfish season ain’t just about eatin’. It’s about family.” And that night, under the warm glow of their Cajun kitchen, Gage became a true crawfish peeler.

Patrick's parents are divorcing. He is very sorry. He will live with his mother, but his father will visit him every weekend. His parents explain to him why they are divorcing and how much they love him. They both want him to be happy. Patrick has a lot of questions for them, e.g. Who will he go on holiday with? etc. - come up with more examples and have his parents answer all his questions - e.g. He will go on vacation sometimes with his mother and sometimes with his father. etc. come up with examples of answers.

Emma lives in Scarborough with her single mother. They live in an apartment building. Her mom does 2 jobs to make ends meet, however with high rent and cost of living, theyhardly have enough money for food. So one day, along with her mom, Emma goes to the local foodbank that is run by Feed Scarborough. At the foodbank, while Emma was waiting in one corner reading some fun books, while her mom was shopping at the foodbank, Emma saw a racoon walking around, playing with an apple. Emma started talking with the Racoon. Racoon told Emma that his name is Dignity, and the apple is his friend, named Hope. Dignity told emma all about food insecurity in our community and that she is not the only one who comes to the foodbank. Feed Scarborough's foodbanks are set up like a grocery store, so her mom can pick and choose the food that Emma likes. Dignity also told Emma about so many children, who are not having enough food to eat nowadays as times are tough. Dignity told Emma that better days are coming soon as Toronto's Mayor and Canada's Prime Minister is working together to have better food in school so no children need to study in empty stomach. As dignity was telling Emma these stories, suddenly Emma heard her Mom's voice, calling out to her. As she turned towards the door, she saw her mom asking her to come with her so they can leave the foodbank. As Emma turned back, Dignity and Hope was nowhere to be seen. Was Dignity and Hope real? Were they really there telling Emma the story or were they franction of her imagination, as on the wall, there was a poster of Dignity and Hope (which are the mascots of Feed Scarborough.

Miko the Meerkat and Lou the lizard live in the hot and dry Kalahari Desert. Miko the Meerkat and Lou the Lizard in the vast Kalahari Desert. Miko and Lou are best friends and do everything together! Miko is a bright, lively and friendly meerkat. He loves popping and looking out of burrows to explore the Kalahari. Miko likes moving from place to place and can’t stay still! Lou is a clever lizard; she loves to imagine the stars in the sky so much that she sometimes forgets to listen in class. Miko and Lou are different from their friends because they both have ADHD Miko struggled to stay still in class. He was always digging burrows and often got distracted during his How to Spot a Predator class. Lou also struggled in class. She couldn’t focus on her Sun Safety class because she was easily distracted by the clouds in the sky and often forgot to take down her homework.After visiting Dr Wild the Wildebeest, Miko and Lou learnt to do things that would help them to manage their ADHD. Although Miko and Lou struggled in class, their ADHD is now an advantage!Miko became the captain of the sand surfing team and had the fastest record in the desert! Miko was also top of his insect tracking class and created the first ever pair of insect spy goggles that could see different insect tracks and tell you what type of insect you are looking at!Lou enjoyed stargazing so much that she was top of the class for astronomy and could name every constellationEven though Miko and Lou had some tough times with their ADHD, they both learnt cool tricks to help them feel better and do their best. They have support from their parents, teachers and classmates. But the best part was that they could count on each other! Miko and Lou learnt how to handle their ADHD together and were always there to help each other when things got tough.

The story begins with Jax playing on the sandy shore, building sandcastles and collecting seashells. His parents are nearby, watching him with smiles as he laughs and explores. The sun is shining, and the waves gently crash on the beach. Jax loves the ocean and often wonders what it would be like to swim with the creatures he sees in his books. Suddenly, Jax notices something unusual in the water—a large, friendly orca is waving at him with its fin! The orca introduces itself as Ollie and invites Jax to join him on an underwater adventure. Jax, curious and excited, agrees. Ollie gives Jax a magical seashell necklace that allows him to breathe underwater and swim like a fish. Jax puts it on, and with a splash, he dives into the ocean, holding onto Ollie’s fin. Jax and Ollie swim through colorful coral reefs, meeting all kinds of sea creatures along the way. They encounter: A playful school of clownfish who invite Jax to play hide-and-seek in the anemones. A wise old sea turtle who tells Jax stories about the ocean’s history. A shy octopus who shows Jax how to change colors and hide in the sand. A group of dolphins who perform flips and tricks, making Jax laugh. Ollie takes Jax to a special underwater cave where all the sea creatures are having a party. There’s music (made by singing whales and clapping crabs), dancing, and even a seaweed cake! Jax is the guest of honor, and everyone celebrates his bravery and curiosity. As the sun begins to set, Ollie tells Jax it’s time to return to the shore. Jax says goodbye to his new friends, promising to visit again someday. Ollie swims him back to the beach, where Jax’s parents are waiting. When Jax looks back at the ocean, he sees Ollie’s fin waving goodbye. Jax runs to his parents, excitedly telling them about his adventure. They smile and listen, even though they think he’s just imagining things. But Jax knows it was real—he still has the magical seashell necklace as a reminder.

One rainy afternoon, Erica and Sam stumbled upon The Magical Bookstore while exploring the new town. Intrigued by the twinkling lights and inviting atmosphere, they stepped inside, and were greeted by shelves upon shelves of books, each whispering tales of wonder.
