The American army was able to defeat the Mexican army, despite the Mexican army being much larger, due to their superior weapons and training. 4. John Jr and Yuēhàn found out Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo ended the Mexican War and annexed a large amount of territory to California.

1. Vasi asked John Jr about being Kind. Vasi had heard that a brief act of kindness can change people’s hearts. Vasi thought that sounded like something that he wanted to do. 2. As they was shopping they saw a family who had matching outfits on. John Jr gave them a compliment. The family smiled at John Jr and Vasi. 3. John Jr shared a quote by Mark Twain "Kindness is the language which the deaf can hear and the blind can see". John Jr and Vasi tell each other how easy it is to be kind 4. John Jr and Vasi saw a mom with 5 young kids struggling to push two carts to her car. John Jr and Vasi go over and push the 2nd cart and help keep the kids safe. At the car, John Jr and Vasi helped to unload the carts. The momma was very appreciative and gave John Jr and Vasi some candy she had just bought. 5. John Jr and Vasi head home and give bird seed to the birds along the way. At home John Jr tells his parents about his goal to be the kindest person. His parents hugged him and said that was a wonderful goal.

1. John Jr read Genesis 2:8-9 which says "Now the LORD God had planted a garden in the east, in Eden; and there he put the man he had formed. The LORD God made all kinds of trees grow out of the ground—trees that were pleasing to the eye and good for food. John Jr wanted to explore the tree of Life and tree of knowledge a bit deeper for better understanding. He learned that God wants wants you to grow into a strong tree, nourished by the light of His word. God promised those who follow and trust his way will flourish and prosper. 2. Jesus is the water of life that will nourish and gives us light for all us to grow into a strong person. John Jr decided to delight in the ways of God and to not let Satan decieve him. John Jr started to read more about being a good follower of Jesus. John Jr wanted to bear good fruit and started practicing love, joy, peace, gentleness, goodness, and faith in his everyday life. John learned wisdom was tree of life and the righteous was its fruit. 3. John Jr learned that the tree of knowledge of bad and evil tries to divide human action into Right or Wrong, Good or Evil and Lawful or Unlawful with privileges and punishments for each case. John Jr learned that the tree of knowledge is where sin came from. John Jr decided that he was going to obey God's ways better. He decided to not tell lies anymore and to be kind to his neighbor by not picking their flowers and just try to be more righteous. 4. So God wants us to plant vegetables in our garden that will draw us closer to him. John Jr started planting peas, lettuce, squash, turnips and thyme.

1. In a forest, the animals often held contests to see who was the fastest and smartest. One day, a wise old owl announced a special event. Bird: “Tomorrow, there will be a great race! The winner will be crowned the Champion of the Forest and receive a basket of the finest fruits!” The news excited everyone. Each one believed they could win, but the snake boasted the loudest. Snake: “None of you stand a chance! I’ll slither faster than all of you!” he hissed. 2. all the animals gathered at the starting line. The bird flew swiftly ahead, the rabbit hopped with energy, the squirrel zigzagged skillfully, and the snake slithered smoothly. Meanwhile, the fish swam along the sparkling stream that ran beside the path. 3. The racers came to a wide muddy patch. The snake struggled, his body slipping in the mud. Further along, the rabbit’s paw got caught in a thorn bush. She cried out. Rabbit: “Help! I’m stuck!” The bird saw her and hesitated. Bird: “If I stop, I might lose!” But the squirrel heard her too and quickly rushed over. Rabbit:. “Thank you!” Snake: “You’re wasting time helping others!” 4. Suddenly, there path blocked by a fallen log. The snake tried to push the log away but couldn’t. He looked around for help, but none of the animals trusted him because of his earlier boasting. Just then, the rabbit and squirrel arrived and helped. Snake: “Why would you help me?” Bird: “Because helping others is what makes us stronger,” 5. Finally, all the animals raced toward the finish line together. To everyone’s surprise, the fish, who had steadily swum along the whole race, crossed first! The snake, though he didn’t win, felt happy for the fish and thanked the squirrel and rabbit. Snake: “I was wrong to be so proud. Kindness and teamwork matter more than winning.” From that day on, the snake became a better friend, and the animals of the forest learned that working together brings the greatest rewards.
